Can a Sundew Catch This Strange Insect? | Lacewing vs Sundew in 4K Macro

A lacewing lands on my Cape sundew (Drosera capensis), but can this delicate insect actually be held by the plant’s sticky tentacles? Filmed in stunning 4K macro, the encounter follows the lacewing as it moves across the sundew while the plant slowly begins reacting around it. Timelapse reveals the tentacles bending towards the insect as the trap develops. The macro detail in this one is especially striking, from the lacewing’s intricate wings and reflective eyes to the glistening droplets covering the sundew leaf. This is a slower, more delicate encounter than some of my other carnivorous plant films, but the detail and gradual movement make it one of the most mesmerising to watch. Real Nature. Real Footage.
