She will be under local anaesthetic, so awake for the entire procedure, and will converse back and forth with Mr. Richards and his team. She states she wants to be able to wear decent earrings, and can't currently because of the splits. Mr. Richards starts on the left ear which is the minor split of the two. He trims the piece away from the front whilst discussing the back of the ear with the patient. He then trims a small triangle from the base of the earlobe, so it can fit together when stitched. Moving onto the next ear, we see this has two splits in it, which means the repair may be slightly more complicated. Mr. Richards tells the patient this on the video, but proceeds to make the incisions, and curves the edges so the earlobe doesn't end up pointy. All the stitches are dissolvable in this surgery, and Aggie, Aurora Clinics Clinical Lead goes through the post operative care with the patient. It is important to remember that waiting a healthy amount of time before getting another piercing is very important. Aggie recommends approximately 3 months and definitely avoid the scar. At the end of the procedure we are shown the final results before we finish the video and our patient is shown the results, and then has her ears taped up to protect the wound.
